3 year feud turns into friendship through hectic efforts of Jirga

The three-year feud between Gul Bahadur and Abid-ur-Rehman has been turned into friendship through hectic efforts of a local jirga.

According to details, three years ago, a quarrel broke out between Gul Bahadur and Abid-ur-Rehman alias (Turi) family on only half a marla of land in Baja village, in which one member of Abid ur Rehman family was killed on the spot and the other five were injured.

The case was heard by a Swabi local court and now in Peshawar High Court.

However, with the efforts of local jirga leaders Jan Bahadur, Abdul Waris, Mufti Rashid, Muhammad Saeed and Sultan Sher, the consent ceremony of both the parties was held on Monday, January 17 at Baja Masjid Qasim Khel village.

Leading scholars Mufti Muhammad Rashid, Mufti Irshad Sahib and elders of the area attended the ceremony. Local police in-charge Baja Bamkhel Yasir Khan had made security arrangements at the ceremony.

Later, the leaders of the jirga thanked both the parties, adding that may Allah give them more strength to end all problems and enmities in the area.

On this occasion, Dr. Abdul Aziz son of Abid-ur-Rehman thanked the leaders of the jirga and said that all of the Muslims are brothers, adding that issues coming in life should be resolved in peace according to the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
