Beijing rejects Indian govt’s statement on Gilgit-Baltistan

The Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson, Wang Wenbin has said that the issue of Kashmir should be resolved peacefully and properly according to the United Nations (UN) charter, relevant UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and bilateral agreements.

According to media reports, the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson has made these remarks during his regular briefing in Beijing on Thursday.

The Spokesperson reiterated that China’s position on the Kashmir issue is consistent and clear. He also rejected Indian statement over the provisional provincial status to Gilgit-Baltistan.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan has already categorically rejected Indian government’s statement on Gilgit-Baltistan terming the administrative, political and economic reforms as a longstanding demand of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
