BTS wins 4 awards, Lady Gaga takes best artist at MTV Europe Music Awards

The South Korean pop group BTS won a leading four awards including best song for “Dynamite” and best group best fans and best virtual live for Bang Bang Con at the MTV Europe Music Awards Sunday night.

According to AFP, the show aired Sunday on the network with performances from Alicia Keys, Doja Cat, Sam Smith and DaBaby. The show was hosted by girl group Little Mix.

Lady Gaga took the best artist prize. She went into the event with the most nominations and beat out Justin Bieber, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus and The Weeknd for the best artist prize.

However, Gaga lost out for best video which went to DJ Khaled for “Popstar.” The collaboration with Drake bested the likes of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion for ‘WAP’.

Coldplay won best rock, Haley Williams got best alternative and Little Mix was named best pop. Cardi B won the best hip hop award. Best Latin award and best collaboration, for “Tusa” featuring Nicki Minaj, went to Karol G.

The best electronic went to David Guetta who also performed at the show from a stage in Budapest. YUNGBLUD took best push and Doja Cat won the best new artist honor.
