The President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has been sent to jail on judicial remand by the Lahore Judicial Magistrate Court.

According to the media reports, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) produced Chaudhry Parvez Elahi in the court of Judicial Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza Vark in the case of money laundering. His lawyers Aamir Saeed Raan and Asif Cheema appeared in the court.

While pronouncing a reserved judgment, the Judicial Magistrate rejected the plea of ​​Parvez Elahi for physical remand. The FIA ​​team took Chaudhry Parvez Elahi to Camp Jail.

The reports said that a tight security arrangement was made outside the courtroom before the hearing began, with police and FIA officials evicting journalists from the courtroom.

The doctors of Services Hospital Lahore conducted a medical examination of Parvez Elahi in Camp Jail before trial. After the medical examination, the doctors declared him healthy. FIA detained Parvez Elahi after the medical examination by doctors.

It is pertinent to mention here that yesterday the anti-corruption court approved the bail of Parvez Elahi in the case of illegal recruitment in the Punjab Assembly. FIA registered a new money laundering case against Parvez Elahi and Monis Elahi yesterday. He is expected to be released today after the anti-corruption court approved his bail.
