New Global Financing Pact Summit kicks off in Paris today

French President Emmanuel Macron kicked off the New Global Financing Pact Summit in Paris today (Thursday, June 22).

According to the media reports, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron stressed the need for collective efforts to meet global challenges like climate change and alleviation of poverty. He said we have to correct the global environment transition. He said we must also respect the sovereignty of each country.

The reports further stated that heads of more than fifty countries and representatives of financial institutions are participating in the summit. The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is representing Pakistan in the Summit.

Upon arrival at Palais Brogniart to attend the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact in Paris, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was received by French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Catherine Colonna.
