Dr. Umar Saif may appoint as Caretaker IT and Telecom Minister

Dr. Umar Saif – the Information Technology Expert in Pakistan – is likely to be appointed caretaker IT and Telecom Minister.

According to the media reports, Dr. Umar Saif has served as Chairman Pakistan Information Technology Board. He also served as the Vice Chancellor of IT University.

The reports further stated that Umar Saif has also been honored with Satara Imtiaz for services in the IT sector in 2014. He has also received several international awards in the field of technology.

On the other hand, Murtaza Solangi – a senior journalist of Pakistan – is likely to be made Federal Minister of Information. The media reports claimed that the names of the important ministries for the formation of the caretaker cabinet were revealed yesterday (Wednesday, August 16). Almost all the names for the caretaker cabinet have been finalized and the cabinet members are likely to take oath today.

The reports further revealed that former State Bank Governor Shamshad Akhtar is likely to be made Finance Minister, former diplomat Jalil Abbas Jilani as Foreign Minister, Sarfaraz Bugti as Caretaker Interior Minister, Gohar Ejaz as Industry and Trade Minister and Aneeq Ahmed as Religious Affairs Minister. The name of Sultan Ali Alana was finalized for the caretaker finance minister yesterday, but due to his dual citizenship, two more names are being considered for the caretaker finance minister.
