Journalist Murtaza Solangi – a senior journalist in the Pakistani journalism industry – is likely to be made caretaker Minister of Information and Broadcasting.
The media reports claimed that the names of the important ministries for the formation of the caretaker cabinet were revealed yesterday (Wednesday, August 16). According to that list, Senior Journalist Murtaza Solangi is likely to be appointed as caretaker Information Minister. Dr. Umar Saif – the Information Technology Expert in Pakistan – is likely to be appointed caretaker IT and Telecom Minister.

Dr. Umar Saif has served as Chairman Pakistan Information Technology Board. He also served as the Vice Chancellor of IT University. He has also been honored with Satara Imtiaz for services in the IT sector in 2014. He has also received several international awards in the field of technology.
Moreover, almost all the names for the caretaker cabinet have been finalized and the cabinet members are likely to take oath today. The reports further revealed that former State Bank Governor Shamshad Akhtar is likely to be made Finance Minister, former diplomat Jalil Abbas Jilani as Foreign Minister, Sarfaraz Bugti as Caretaker Interior Minister, Gohar Ejaz as Industry and Trade Minister and Aneeq Ahmed as Religious Affairs Minister. The name of Sultan Ali Alana was finalized for the caretaker finance minister yesterday, but due to his dual citizenship, two more names are being considered for the caretaker finance minister.
