The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle summoned another advocate of the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, lawyer Khawaja Haris.
According to the media reports, the Federal Investigation Agency has sent a notice to lawyer Khawaja Haris to appear at 2 pm on Wednesday, August 9. The FIA stated that an inquiry has been started against the lawyer of the PTI Chairman on the orders of the Islamabad High Court.
The FIA further stated in the notice that in case of non-appearance, Lawyer Khawaja will be deemed to have nothing to say in his defense.
It is pertinent to mention here that before Lawyer Khawaja, chairman PTI’s lawyer Naeem Panjotha was also summoned. He presented fake social media screenshots attributed to Judge Humayun Dilawar in court. In the FIA inquiry, the screenshots were proved to be fake.
The reports also said that Naeem Haider Panjotha was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency today (Tuesday, August 8). Sher Afzal Khan Marwat – the lawyer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Inaf – said in a statement on the social networking website Twitter that Panjotha’s clerk had confirmed the arrest but it was not clear whether it was a formal arrest or not as the first information report cannot be registered directly and without permission of Islamabad High Court. He said that Naeem Panjotha has reportedly been arrested by FIA. He said that Panjotha’s arrest would unite the legal fraternity and would not stop the PTI chairman’s legal team from discharging their professional obligations.
