Swat Motorway to usher a new era of development in region: Mahmood Khan

The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Mahmood Khan has said that the Swat Motorway is not just a road but an important package for socio-economic development of the entire Malakand Division. The completion of the project would usher a new era of development and prosperity in the entire region, he said.

According to media reports, the Chief Minister of KP has expressed these views while presiding over a meeting in Peshawar on Thursday. The meeting approved the construction of Swat Motorway Phase II under a public-private partnership.

The meeting revealed that the 80 km long road will be constructed from Chakdara Interchange to Fatehpur. The project will be completed at an estimated cost of 60 billion rupees.

CM Mahmood Khan has said that the completion of the project would boost tourism, agriculture and other economic activities in the area.
