First case of Omicron detected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The first case of Covid-19’s Omicron variant has been detected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

According to details, the news has been confirmed by the Health Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Taimur Khan Jhagra in a statement on social networking website Twitter.

In his tweet, Taimur Khan Jhagra has said that our public health reference lab has detected the first cases of Omicron in Pakhtunkhwa. He said that this was only a matter of time.

The Provincial Health Minister further stated that the hospital system of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has coped with four surges and will continue to be ready. He also urged people to get vaccinated as per NCOC guidelines.
