The former Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and former Test cricketer Ijaz Butt died at the age of 85.

According to the media reports, the news has been confirmed by his son-in-law Arif Saeed today (Thursday, August 3rd). He said that Ijaz Butt was ill for a long time.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has expressed its grief and condolences to the family of Ijaz Butt in a statement on social networking website Twitter. The tweet read, “The PCB is saddened by the news of the passing of former Test cricketer and PCB chairman Ijaz Butt. Our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Ijaz Butt represented Pakistan in 8 Test matches and he was the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board from 2008 to 2011.
