The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the incumbent government has not stopped the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold its Jalsa in Sialkot.

According to media reports, the Information Minister has made these remarks while addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Saturday.

On the occasion, the Information Minister said that the PTI has been holding Jalsas over the last few weeks. We are not scared of the speeches of former Prime Minister Imran Khan as these are only exposing his own mindset to the public, she said.

Marriyum Aurangzeb further stated that it was informed to the PTI that the Christian Community does not want to give the Church Ground in Sialkot for a public Jalsa as there has been no such political activity there before. She said we offered an alternative place for the public gathering following the reservations of the Christian Community.

“It is our duty to protect the rights of the Christians,” she said, adding that the PTI should also have shown respect to the rights and sentiments of the Christians.

Marriyum Aurangzeb has regretted that former Prime Minister Imran Khan is using the helicopter of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for his public gatherings. She said that the economy was destroyed by the PTI government during its four year tenure.
