The Federal Minister for Interior, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has hoped the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will hold a peaceful protest outside the Election Commission in Islamabad today (Tuesday).
According to media reports, the Interior Minister has made these remarks during his visit to a control room established at the interior ministry to monitor the law and order situation in the federal capital.
Sheikh Rashid Ahmed further stated that it is the first time that such a demonstration has been allowed on the constitution avenue.
“Opposition alliance PDM is allowed to hold a peaceful protest,” he added.
The Interior Minister also visited the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and reviewed the security arrangements there.
