Imported wheat from Russia to reach this month: ECC

The wheat imported from Russia will reach Pakistan within this month, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has said, adding that there will be no shortage of the commodity in the country.

According to media reports, the ECC held a meeting in Islamabad on Monday with Prime Minister’s Advisor on Finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in th chair.

During the meeting, the Committee has decided to constitute in consultation with provinces and other stakeholders to work out the total volume of subsidy involved on imported and local wheat.

ECC also decided to form a Logistics Committee to resolve the day-to-day logistic issues of wheat import.
