The President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi has said that India is playing a spoiler’s role in the region including in Afghanistan. He said India has hegemonic designs in the region as it has started skirmishes with China.
According to media reports, the President has expressed these views in a private TV channel programme. He said a stable and peaceful Afghanistan is must for Pakistan and the region.
Dr Arif Alvi further said that he is discharging his duties as enshrined in the constitution of Pakistan. He said holding a dialogue with the opposition parties is a prerogative of the prime minister.
“Prime Minister takes decision on political issues as per his political acumen,” he added.
