Leading Senate by people who were ignored in past is an honour for people: PM

The Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Imran Khan said leading the Upper House by representatives from Balochistan and erstwhile tribal areas is an honour for the people, who have been ignored in the past, and now their election will further strengthen the federation.

According to media reports, the Prime Minister has made these remarks while talking to Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjani and Deputy Chairman Mirza Muhammad Afridi, who called on him in Islamabad on Monday. The Federal Minister for Defence Pervaiz Khattak was also present during the meeting.

On the occasion, Imran Khan felicitated Sadiq Sanjrani and Mirza Muhammad Afridi on their election as the Chairman and the Deputy Chairman of Senate.

The Premier expressed the hope that the Chairman of the Senate, would continue discharging his responsibilities in the Upper House in the same manner in which he had performed his duties in the past.
