The 34-year-old Argentinian superstar and six times a Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi has confirmed he is leaving Barcelona, where he has played his entire career.

According to media reports, Lionel Messi has confirmed the news during a press conference on Sunday and fought back tears. He has admitted that a move to Paris Saint-Germain is a “possibility”.

The Argentinian superstar was applauded for several minutes by reporters and others in the press conference room as he took the stage at the start and again as he left the stage to embrace staff in the club’s trophy room.

Messi has been out of contract since the end of June and Barcelona say they cannot afford to keep him. PSG and Cash rich are one of the few clubs able to afford Messi.

During the press conference, Messi has said that nothing has been signed with anyone. He said that he received a lot of calls from interested clubs after the press release of his departure was published.

It is to be mentioned here that going Paris would reunite Messi with his close friend Neymar with whom he played at Barcelona.
