Minor altercation occurred b/w Indian and Chinese troops at disputed border

The Army of India has said that a minor altercation occurred between Indian and Chinese troops stationed along the disputed border between the two countries.

According to media reports, the Indian Army has said in a statement on Monday that they have received several queries regarding a face-off between Indian Army and PLA troops in Sikkim sector.

The Indian Army further stated that it is clarified that there was a minor face-off at Naku La area of North Sikkim on January 20 and the same was resolved by local commanders as per established protocols.

They urged the media to refrain from exaggerating the incident, but did not reveal any further details.

According to Russia Today, bot countries India and China remain locked in a tense standoff along the de-facto border in the eastern Himalayas, where they have overlapping claims.

It is to be mentioned here that the Indian and Chinese troops engaged in a deadly brawl that left dozens dead or injured last June and at least 20 Indian soldiers were killed during the violent escalation. However, the Chinese Army has never confirmed the number of casualties from its side.
