Pakistan appreciates Japan's support for infrastructural development, both sides to further expand economic cooperation

The Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, Industries and Production, Hammad Azhar has appreciated the support extended by the government of Japan for infrastructural and institutional development in Pakistan.

According to media reports, the Finance Minister has expressed his views while talking to Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan Kuninori Matsuda, who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday.

During the meeting, Hammad Azhar has lauded the valuable investment by Japan in various sectors particularly in the automobile sector. He affirmed to facilitate Japanese investors and businessmen for undertaking major investment initiatives amid rising demand for innovative business products and services in Pakistan.

The Finance Minister also commended the contribution of the Japan International Cooperation Agency for socio-economic development and reform initiatives aimed at poverty reduction & human development in the country.

“Pakistan and Japan enjoy cordial and friendly relations over the years and this relationship will continue to become even stronger with every passing day,” he added.

In his remarks, the Japanese Ambassador has briefed Hammad Azhar about operations of the Japanese entities in Pakistan. He expressed confidence that business and economic linkages would further strengthen between Japan and Pakistan.

Ambassador Kuninori Matsuda said that Japan greatly values its bilateral relations with Pakistan. Both the sides also discussed issues of mutual interest.
