Pakistan playing key role for Afghan peace process from last two years: Khalilzad

The Special Representative of United States (US) for Afghanistan Reconciliation, Zalmay Khalilzad said that Pakistan has been helpful in the efforts for peace in Afghanistan during the last two years.

According to media reports, the Afghan-American diplomat has made these remarks during an interview with National Public Radio.

Zalmay Khalilzad has said that Pakistan has encouraged the Afghan Taliban to enter negotiations with Afghan government and to reduce violence.

“Pakistan has also been helpful in interaction with Afghan leaders,” he added.
