PDM all set to hold Mardan rally today despite restrictions

The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) is all set to hold a rally in Mardan today (Wednesday) despite the ban imposed by the district administration.

According to media reports, the PDM President and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief, Maulana Fazlur Rehman will lead the rally. The vice president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz will participate in the rallly and she will arrive at the venue in a caravan through Colonel Sher Khan Interchange.

The leaders of Awami National Party, Ameer Haider Khan Hoti, Mian Iftikhar Hussain and other Opposition leaders will also address the rally.

The Mardan district administration has decided not to allow Opposition leaders to hold the public procession given the rising numbers of Covid19 infections across the country. Action will be taken against the protesters, the deputy commissioner said.
