According to the media reports, Islamabad police arrested Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and left Lahore today (Friday, September 1). The reports said that the former Punjab Chief Minister is being arrested and transferred to Islamabad.

Moonis Elahi while reacting to Pervaiz Elahi’s arrest said that court orders have been violated. He said that as the car entered our street, it was stopped and he was abducted. If court orders are going to be ridiculed like this maybe they should officially declare it.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court had ordered the release of the former Punjab Chief Minister and not to arrest him in any case. The Court had ordered the release of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President. LHC had declared in a written order that Chaudhry Pervaiz would not be detained under any law.

Chaudhry Pervaiz requested the Lahore High Court to provide security to the house, after which the court directed the police to drop him at his home. Further hearing of the case will be held on September 21.
