The special focus of the incumbent government on housing and construction sector will strengthen national economy and generate employment for youth, the Prime Minister Imran Khan has said, adding that promotion of housing sector will not only ensure economic activity, but also help the common man realize his dream of an ‘own home.
According to media reports, the Prime Minister has stated this while addressing the foundation-laying ceremony of affordable housing project under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program in Sargodha on Wednesday.
Imran Khan further stated that thirty-one sites have been selected in peri-urban areas in Punjab for low cost housing projects to provide affordable houses to the low-income class on instalments. He said that a total of 1,175 houses measuring three marlas each will be constructed at six places in Sargodha district under the project.

The Prime Minister has said that for the first time in Pakistan’s history, mortgage house finance has been launched at such a big scale but at lowest markup rate. He said the housing project will bolster national economy through growth in construction sector as thirty industries are linked to construction sector.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar said the project would be expanded to 146 tehsils of the province. He said the monthly instalment has been fixed at 10,000 rupees for making the project affordable.
“A subsidy of three hundred thousand rupees by the government of Punjab would facilitate the people,” he added.
Earlier, the Prime Minister laid the foundation-stone and planted a sapling on the occasion in line with the Clean and Green Project.
