PM orders inquiry against grade 21 officer for comparing PTI govt with Taliban

The Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered an inquiry against a grade 21 officer for criticising the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) on social media.

According to Geo, a top government official — known as Hammad Shamimi — had allegedly drawn similarities between the Taliban and the PTI government.

PM Imran Khan has directed the relevant authorities to complete the inquiry within 60 days while Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Director-General Dr Sanaullah Abbasi will conduct the inquiry against Hammad Shamimi, according to a notification issued in this regard.

The notification further stated that the final report will be submitted to Prime Minister as Hammad Shamimi has breached the code of conduct and the inquiry will be conducted under civil servant rules.

It is pertinent to mention here that Hammad Shamimi had commented on Facebook. He stated that there is another similarity between Imran Khan-led PTI government and Taliban as both are contemplating about how to run the government after coming into power.
