The Prime Minister Imran Khan has reshuffled the cabinet Ministers on Friday. He changed portfolios of three ministers and appointed Abdul Hafeez Shaikh as the Minister of Finance.

According to media reports, the Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has been given the portfolio of the Ministry of Interior, formerly led by Ijaz Shah.

Ijaz Shah has been given the Ministry of Narcotics Control. While the Narcotics Control Minister Azam Khan Swati has been given the portfolio of the Ministry of Railways.

The Advisor to Prime Minister on Finance, Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, has taken the oath as a Federal Minister earlier today. He will now chair the Ministry of Finance.

Since the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government came into power three years ago, this the fourth federal cabinet reshuffle.

According to Geo, the move comes days after a division bench comprising Justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Ghulam Azam Qambrani of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ruled that the Prime Minister’s advisors and Special Assistants have no executive authority vested in them to chair or become members of cabinet committees.
