The Islamabad police has said that the fifth suspect Bilal Marwat, allegedly involved in the torture of a couple, has been arrested on Friday.
According to media reports, the development came a few hours after the Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) Qazi Jamilur Rehman gave a briefing to Prime Minister Imran Khan on the matter.
The capital’s IG of Police has informed the PM Imran Khan that he was personally monitoring the case. He said that he was overseeing the matter to build a strong case and get the suspects convicted, according to PM’s Office statement.
IGP Qazi Jamilur Rehman further stated that the police were “using all available resources and scientific methods” to gather evidence against the suspects.
It is to be mentioned here that the Premier had taken notice of the Islamabad couple assault yesterday and directed the IGP to use all of the police’s energies to bring all the people involved to justice and share a report with the PM Office.
The court of judicial magistrate Waqar Gundal has extended the remand of the four suspects allegedly involved in the torture of a couple on Friday.
