The Minister for Education and Professional Training, Shafqat Mahmood has announced that schools and educational institutions will reopen in three phases across the country.
According to media reports, the Education Minister has made the announcement during a news conference along with Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Faisal Sultan.
On the occasion, Shafqat Mahmood has said that classes for grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 — those that have exams — will resume on January 18. He said that the students of grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 will go to their schools and colleges from January 18 and their studies will resume.
The Education Minister further stated that in the second phase, students of primary classes till grade 8 will return to schools from January 25.
“In the third and last phase, universities and other higher education institutions will reopen from February 1,” he added.
The Federal Minister added that the board exams have been postponed to May and June.
