The day PDM hand in resignations would be the last day of govt: Maryam Nawaz

The Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Maryam Nawaz has lashed out at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government over inflation and allegedly suppressing the opposition.

While addressing a large Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rally in Bahawalpur on Sunday hosted by the PML-N, She said that the day the PDM parties decided to hand in their resignations would be the last day of the current government.

Maryam Nawaz asked the audience that the opposition parties should resign in order to mount pressure on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government or keep sitting in these sham assemblies? And the crowd largely responded with “resign!”.

The PML-N Vice President further stated that remember, this government will be finished the day PDM tenders resignations.

It is to be mentioned here that PDM constituent parties claimed that they have received the resignations of all opposition lawmakers in the national and provincial assemblies. However, PDM not yet decided about handing in the resignations formally.

Maryma Nawaz, while addressing PDM president Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has asked what would happen if “I turn the direction of this sea of Bahawalpur’s” supporters towards Islamabad?

She said that the prime minister will not be able to “hide” from the public in such scenario.

The PML-N leader has said that the PM should be forced to go home as soon as possible because the prices of essential commodities had increased many folds when compared with the PML-N’s tenure and people could not afford to pay utility bills and medicines.

“Punjab used to be taunted that it does not stand against oppression but that had now changed. Punjab has not only risen, but it is fully ready to reclaim its rights. The establishment, selectors and selected are all seeing that the people of Punjab have stood up,” she added.
