Shaheen and Ansha Afridi welcomed their first child, a baby boy, today (Saturday, August 24) while the dad participates in the ongoing two-Test series against Bangladesh.
According to the media reports, Pakistani fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi received warm wishes from teammates and fans on social media upon the arrival of his first child, whom the couple named, Ali Yar. The love is spreading all over the internet that the former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has finally become a grandfather.
The 24-year-old pacer Shaheen Afridi, who is currently participating in the two-Test series against Bangladesh, is set to depart from Rawalpindi for Karachi tomorrow (Sunday) night, to join his wife Ansha Afridi after the conclusion of the first Test. He will rejoin his teammates before the second Test starts on August 30.

In the presence of close family members from both families, Shaheen and Ansha Afridi’s nikkah was solemnized at a nearby mosque in Karachi in February 2023. Afterward, in September 2023, the pair got married in a neighborhood hall in Karachi and threw the Valima reception event in Islamabad, the nation’s capital.
Cricketers from the national team and previous players attended the couple’s wedding, bringing a glamorous edge to the occasion. Prominent guests that came to wish the newlyweds well included Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Imam-ul-Haq, and Haris Rauf. Apart from the cricketing icons mentioned before, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Rizwan, and Fakhar Zaman also attended the ceremony and contributed to the celebrations with their well-wishes and congrats.
