SMEs have a cardinal role in boosting economy: President

The President of Pakistan, Dr Arif Alvi said that Small and Medium Enterprises have a cardinal role in boosting the economy of the country.

According to the details, President Dr Arif Alvi made these remarks while addressing a ceremony of the representatives of Sargodha Chambers of Small Traders and Small Industries in Islamabad on Monday.

On the occasion, the President has urged the Small and Medium Enterprises to take advantage of Information Technology to connect their products with the end user. He said international trade is getting more impetus with the development of IT and communication means.

Dr Arif Alvi further stated that now the world has shifted from personal to electronic contacts. Now a producer can approach a consumer in any part of the world by using digital means. He urged trades to not resist digitization of the economy and instead they should seek facilitation from the government in taxation and other things.
