Solangi addresses 8th China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Media Forum, says CPEC transformed Pakistan’s socio-economic landscape

Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has addressed the 8th China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Media Forum in Islamabad today (Wednesday, December 20) and said that the CPEC Media Forum holds significant personal importance for me as well.

Speaking at the 8th China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Media Forum, the Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), launched in the year 2013, has transformed Pakistan’s socio-economic landscape, addressing a dire energy crisis and crumbling infrastructure. He said the CPEC Media Forum is dedicated to challenging the propaganda, surrounding the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, by presenting factual information.

Murtaza Solangi further stated that before CPEC, Pakistan faced challenges in 2013 including ten hours plus blackouts, a 2500 MW electricity deficit, and a 250 billion dollars economic loss. He said CPEC came at a fortunate time for Pakistan, instilling hope, confidence, and faith in the people of Pakistan.

The Information Minister said that the CPEC is not just an infrastructure project, but it has generated over 236 thousand jobs since 2013 and is set to create 1.2 million direct jobs, contributing to local workforce development, and reducing regional disparities. He said CPEC has significantly contributed to Pakistan’s economic growth, increasing its growth rate. He emphasized that the media’s crucial role off in shaping the perspectives of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor requires objective reporting.
