Storiya Khan, sister of Mashal Khan, completes graduation in New York

Storiya Khan Mashal, the sister of Mashal Khan, has earned a degree in biomedical engineering from the State University of Buffalo, New York, USA.

According to the details, the sister of Mashal Khan, Storiya Khan shared pictures from the graduation ceremony on her official Twitter account and dedicated the degree to her brother who was killed by a mob on the premises of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.

Storiya Khan wrote, “Graduated from The State University of Newyork – “University at Buffalo” with a Degree in “Biomedical Engineering”. I have also completed my “Student Engagement Ambassador’s Internship” and “Peer Mentorship”. I dedicate my degree to “Mashal Khan” the Martyr of Knowledge”.

Rights campaigner and Nobel Peace laureate Malala Yousafzai’s father, Ziauddin Yousafzai also felicitated Storiya Khan Mashal on her achievement in a statement on the social networking website Twitter.  He wrote, “Let’s celebrate the story of @StoriyaM, sister of Mashal Khan Shaheed, who in the face of adversity has graduated with a degree in BioMedical Engineering from the State University of Buffalo @UBuffalo! Her resilient spirit and dedication to education are an inspiration to all. She dedicated her achievement to Mashal Khan and all Afghan girls fighting for their right to education. #GirlsEducation #LetAfghanGirlsLearn.”

It is pertinent to mention here that Mashal Khan old was beaten to death on the premises of his university. At least 57 people were apprehended in the case. On February 07, 2018, the Anti-Terrorism Court sentenced the prime suspect to death while five others to 25 years imprisonment in the case. Twenty-Six suspects were acquitted by the court and three years of jail term was awarded to 25 other accused in the case.
