The spokesperson of the Foreign Office, Zahid Chaudhry has said that there was no United States (US) military or airbase in Pakistan, nor was any such proposal envisaged.
According to details, Zahid Chaudhry, in a press release, has rejected the speculations about presence of US military or air base in Pakistan. He said that such baseless and irresponsible speculations must be avoided.
The Foreign Office spokesperson has said that Pakistan and the United States have a framework of cooperation in terms of the Air Lines of Communication (ALOC) and Ground Lines of Communication (GLOC) in place since 2001. He said no new agreement has been made in this regard.
It is to be mentioned here that the speculations started doing the rounds after a media report stated that Pakistan would continue to provide air and ground access to the US military for its Afghan operations.
