Usman Buzdar resigns, PM Khan nominates Pervaiz Elahi for CM Punjab

The Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has resigned from his post while the Prime Minister Imran Khan has nominated Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for the post.

According to details, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has announced in a statement on social networking website Twitter on Monday that PM Imran Khan has nominated Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid’s (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for the post.

In the tweet, Farrukh Habib wrote, “Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi meets Prime Minister Imran Khan. All issues were settled in the meeting. PML-Q expresses confidence in PM and announces support. Chief Minister Usman Bazdar tenders his resignation to PM. Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to nominate Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi as the new Chief Minister of Punjab.”

The leader of PML-Q Moonis Elahi has confirmed that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has accepted the post of CM Punjab offered by PM Khan.

The leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Sardar Usman Buzdar tendered his resignation on Monday after the joint Opposition submitted a no-confidence motion against him in the Punjab Assembly earlier today, citing that they had been dissatisfied with his performance.
