World AIDS Day 2023 is being observed across the globe including Pakistan today (Friday, December 1) to create awareness about the disease.

According to the media reports, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that the theme of World AIDS Day 2023 is ‘let communities lead’. President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi and Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in their messages on World AIDS Day have urged all stakeholders to create awareness about HIV/AIDs to prevent its spread.

The President of Pakistan said in his message that the day reminds us that ending the epidemic requires collective efforts to reach even the most marginalized populations and improve the outreach of health services.

On the other hand, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar while expressing the government’s resolve to combat HIV-AIDS in the country, has underscored the need to synergize efforts for an AIDS-free Pakistan.
