The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Amir Farooq will hear the bail application. The court has issued a notice to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for arguments.

It is pertinent to mention here that Chairman PTI Imran Khan was arrested from Lahore on August 5, 2023, after serving 3 years in the Toshakhana case and then he was transferred to Attock Jail. Imran Khan was arrested in the cipher case.

Despite the suspension of the sentence of the judicial court in the Toshakhana case by the Islamabad High Court, the release of the former prime minister was not possible because the case of the disappearance of the cipher against him is also pending in the courts. The cipher case against Chairman PTI is being heard by Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqarnain of the Special Court established under the Secret Act.
