5G auction to be held in next few months in Pakistan

Dr. Umar Saif – the Caretaker Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication – has said that the 5G auction is going to be conducted in the next few months and the interim government is taking steps to provide better telecom services in Pakistan.

According to the media reports, Caretaker Federal Minister IT and Telecommunication Dr. Umar Saif made these remarks while talking to the CEO of Jazz Amir Ibrahim who called on him in Islamabad today (Thursday, September 21).

The 5G spectrum auction, timeline, and provision of telecom services were discussed. Dr. Umar Saif said that the 5G auction is going to be held in the next few months and steps are being taken to provide better telecom services in Pakistan. He said that the customers are not getting good service due to the limited bandwidth offered, and 5G customers are not getting good service. Better and quality telecom services will be available.

Caretaker Federal Minister IT and Telecommunication Dr. Umar Saif has already met individually with the CEOs of Ufone and Zong. The talks with the CEOs of cellular businesses are intended to inform the telecom companies about the 5G auction preparations and to prepare the market for the 5G auction.
