CJCSC General Nadeem Raza awarded with Legion of Merit by Turkey

The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), General Nadeem Raza is awarded Turkey’s highest military award Legion of Merit in an impressive investiture ceremony on Thursday.

According to media reports, the CJCSC General Nadeem Raza is on an official visit to Turkey. He has called on Turkish Minister of National Defence General Retired Hulusi Akar, at Ankara.

The Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) has said that General Nadeem Raza also had separate meetings with Commander Turkish Armed Forces and Chiefs of the tri-services General Yasar Guler. He also visited Turkish Aerospace Industries.

According to ISPR, both sides deliberated upon various areas of interest, bilateral cooperation including security, counter-terrorism and prevailing regional environment particularly with reference to Afghanistan during the meetings. Both sides also dilated upon measures to enhance cooperation in the field of defence production and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the excellent relationship.

The military leadership of Turkey lauded the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in fight against terrorism.

On the occasion, the Turkey’s military leadership also conferred Turkey’s highest military award Legion of Merit on General Nadeem Raza.
