Fawad Chaudhry urges masses to follow SOPs

The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has warned that the government would take drastic steps, like complete lockdown, if pattern of increase in Coronavirus cases persists.

Speaking at a news conference in Karachi on Saturday, he appealed the nation to strictly adhere to standard operating procedures against the novel coronavirus pandemic to bring down the positivity ratio of cases.

Fawad Chaudhry has said that currently we are consuming 90 percent Oxygen of our total supply while positivity ratio of cases has jumped to 11 percent. He said for fully compliance to SOPs of COVID-19, the government has decided to seek help from military as our implementation percentage is just 21 percent.

The Information Minister has urged all political parties, Ulema and people with influence to play their role in implementation of SOPs. He also urged Election Commission of Pakistan to formulate SOPs for election campaigns as in our neighbouring country India, Modi’s election campaign is being considered as the major reason of the virus spread.

“Our sympathies are with the people of India in this crucial condition and we pray for everyone’s recovery,” he added and also shared a statement of solidarity with Indian people on his Twitter account.

Fawad Chaudhry further stated that we are taking steps to resolve the issues of print and electronic media including salaries of workers. He urged the opposition not to politicize the issue of TLP.

“After long time stability in economic sector is being witnessed and we should work together for improving the country’s economy,” he added.
