CII must play its role in ensuring protection, promotion of women’s rights: President

The Council of Islamic Ideology must play its role in ensuring the protection and promotion of women’s rights, particularly their right to inheritance.

This was stated by the President Dr. Arif Alvi while talking to Chairman Council of Islamic Ideology Dr. Qibla Ayaz in Islamabad on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Dr Arif Alvi further stated that Islam has granted social and economic rights to women but unfortunately the cultural hindrances kept them deprived of their rights. He said the government has enacted a law to protect women’s property rights and ensure that such rights are not violated.
