ECC approves over PKR 5 Billion for payment against Urea fertilizer import

The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet recently approved 5.57 billion rupees as an additional contribution for the Ministry of Commerce in order to pay for the federal government’s share with provinces, related to importing Urea fertilizer.

According to the media reports, a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee was held in Islamabad today (Wednesday, May 17th) with Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar in the chair.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Industries & Production was advised by the committee to ensure early clearance of subsidy payable by the provinces on imported Urea fertilizer.

On the occasion, the ECC accorded approval of one hundred million rupees to National Highway Authority for the construction of a 77 km road from Dalbandin to Ziarat Balanosh. ECC also approved 1,666 million rupees in favor of NHA to meet its expenditure incurred on the restoration of roads damaged during the flood in 2022. The Committee approved 922 million rupees in favor of the Ministry of Energy for the Construction of the 2nd Circuit stringing from Jiwani to Gwadar.
