General Elections 2024: The deadline for filing appeals against the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers for the upcoming general elections is this Wednesday. Decisions about these appeals will be made by this month’s 10th.
According to the media reports, by this month’s 12th, candidates have the option to withdraw their candidacy papers. The preliminary list of candidates will be revealed on the 11th of this month for the General Elections 2024. On the 13th of this month, the electoral symbols will be distributed, and on the 8th of the next month, general election polls will take place.
As for the reserved seats for women and non-Muslims, the new schedule states that the nomination papers must be scrutinized by this month’s 13th and that the Returning Officer’s choices must be appealed by this month’s 16th.
Candidates may withdraw their papers by this month’s 22nd, once the amended list of candidates for reserved seats is released on the 20th. On the 23rd of this month, the whole list of candidates will be made public.
