Governor Ghulam Ali has proposed 8th October to Election Commission for holding general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the media reports, Governor Ghulam Ali proposed the date in a letter on Saturday, March 25.

In a letter written by Ghulam Ali to Election Commission of Pakistan, he pointed delaying the polls due to deteriorated security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also highlighted the recent incidents of terrorism, including the cross-border firing that took place in South Waziristan.

Earlier, the Governor Ghulam Ali had announced 28th May as a date for elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
