Govt committed to promoting media landscape in Pakistan

Murtaza Solangi – the Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting – has said that the government is committed to promoting a vibrant, diverse, and responsible media landscape in Pakistan.

According to the media reports, the Caretaker Information Minister made these remarks while talking to Information Secretary Shahera Shahid and former Information Secretary Zahoor Ahmed who called on him in Islamabad today (Tuesday, November 21).

Speaking on the occasion, Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi said that the rapid development of technology has changed the methods used in the media. He said our main focus should be on strengthening the media industry in Pakistan in this challenging environment. He said freedom of the media and protection of the rights of journalists is our firm commitment.

The Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting further stated that we should present the positive image of Pakistan, our rich cultural heritage, and our socio-economic achievements to the world. He congratulated the newly appointed Shahera Shahid on assuming the office of Information Secretary. He also paid tribute to former Secretary of Information Zahoor Ahmed for his services to the Ministry of Information during his tenure.
