The government launched Pakistan’s first carbon market policy during COP-29 in Baku.

According to the media reports, described as a significant step towards Green Pakistan, Pakistan’s first carbon market policy was launched during COP-29 in Baku, to achieve climate targets and promote green investment.

The strategy intends to encourage investment in the energy, agricultural, and forestry sectors. The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) worked to build a transparent carbon market system that met global standards.

These carbon markets will incentivize enterprises to deploy environmentally friendly technologies and minimize greenhouse gas emissions. Global investors and organizations are invited to participate in Pakistan’s carbon market.
