The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will announce Uran Pakistan, a homegrown five-year national economic plan.
According to the media reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will announce Uran Pakistan in Islamabad today (Tuesday, December 31). In his broadcast remarks, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb stated that the economic plan aims to steer the country toward long-term growth based on the existing macroeconomic stability. The Finance Minister described it as a historic event and noted that one of the plan’s primary pillars is to achieve export-led growth to avoid economic boom-and-bust cycles. He highlighted that the private sector will have to take the lead.

The Finance Minister expressed the commitment to completing the structural reforms process, emphasizing that the government is also working diligently to reduce its expenditures. He expressed confidence that Uran Pakistan will take the country to a place in the next two to three years, making the current IMF program the last one.
In his broadcast remarks, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal stated that the administration took the required steps to address economic difficulties. He expressed optimism that this five-year plan will lay a solid basis for economic development, with advantages for the ordinary man in the form of more employment, healthcare, education, and business prospects. He described it as a revolutionary step, stating that its success is dependent on the entire nation working together.
Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, stated that this is an all-inclusive program that will guide economic progress. He stated that the economic reform plan is for the growth of Pakistan and its people. Minister of State for Finance Ali Pervaiz stated that the five-year economic plan will permanently establish the country’s economic trajectory on the proper track. He was certain that this approach would propel Pakistan to the status of a sovereign economic power on the global stage.
