Hazara Express train derails in Nawabshah, 15 died, 40 injured

Hazara Express train derailed at Sarhari railway station in Nawabshah today (Sunday, August 6) and as a result, 15 passengers were killed in the accident.

According to the media reports, fifteen passengers were killed and 40 others injured after the Hazara Express train derailed at Sarhari railway station. The initial reports said that around 7 to 8 bogies of the train have derailed and overturned. 

The media reports further stated that the Hazara Express was heading toward Havelian from Karachi. Rescue teams were busy evacuating stranded passengers while the injured persons have been shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Army and Rangers have begun relief and rescue operations at Sarhari railway station in Nawabshah after the bogies of the Hazara Express derailed at Sarhari Railway Station. The rescue operation has been started on the special directives of Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir. 

After the directives of COAS General Syed Asim Munir, rescue teams of the Pakistan Army and Rangers started reaching the accident site. Additional troops have been called in from Hyderabad and Sakrand. The Aviation helicopters of the Pakistan Army are also reaching the spot to rescue the injured people. The Pakistan Army and Rangers are also delivering food items at the accident site.  

The rescue operation teams will continue till the transfer of the last injured to the hospital and the rehabilitation of the people trapped at the accident site.
