Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam said that he didn’t pay attention to criticism and there was no need for anybody to tell him anything. I know my game and I try to enhance it every day, he added.
According to the media reports, the Captain of Peshawar Zalmi has expressed his views while talking to media persons after Zalmi routed Karachi Kings in a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match in Karachi.
The former Pakistan skipper said he played at number three for the sake of Pakistan, however, he was personally not satisfied with that position. He said he had no pressure and whatever decision he took was in the best interest of the team. He served as an opening batsman for the national side, but following criticism over the alleged slow strike rate and the PCB management’s decision, he started playing at one down.

However, Babar has been remarkable with Saim Ayub as his opening pair in this Pakistan Super League season as he scored five half-centuries in 10 matches. He praised his opening partner and said he felt great opening a match with Saim Ayub as they kept communicating about the match situation in the meantime. He said that Ayub had become a proper all-rounder and in his form.
While responding to a question, Skipper Babar Azam said he could not describe the pleasant feeling upon hearing people chanting his name. It feels great when people call my name, he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by two runs in the last-ball nail-biting thriller at the National Stadium Karachi last night. Following the posting of a goal of 148 runs, Peshawar held Karachi to 145/5. With 13 points, Babar’s squad qualified for the playoffs, while Karachi, led by Shan Masood, finished fifth with 8 points.
