IMF concludes initial assessment of Pakistan’s economic reform program

The IMF Executive Board has concluded its initial assessment of Pakistan’s economic reform program, which is backed by the IMF’s Stand-By Arrangement.

According to the media reports, the Board’s approval allows for an immediate disbursement of around 700 million US dollars bringing the total disbursements under Stand By Agreement to 1.9 billion dollars.

In a statement issued on the social networking website X, the Ministry of Finance said, “The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) completed the 1st review and allows for an immediate disbursement of SDR 528 million (around US$ 700 million) bringing the total disbursements under the SBA to US$ 1.9 billion.”
