The request of the PTI Chairman for suspension of sentence in the Toshakhana case has been accepted by the Islamabad High Court and ordered to release Imran Khan on bail.
According to the media reports, Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamir Farooq accepted the PTI Chairman’s request for suspension of sentence in the Toshakhana case. The court has also issued an order to release the Chairman PTI Imran Khan on bail.
IHC Chief Justice Aamir Farooq delivered a brief verdict and said that the verdict is being written. He said that the reasons for suspending the sentence will be given in the written decision.

Yesterday, IHC reserved its decision after hearing the arguments of the parties on the request for suspension of the sentence of Chairman PTI Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case. A 2-member bench headed by Chief Justice IHC Aamir Farooq and Justice Tariq Jahangiri heard the petition against the trial court’s sentence in the Toshakhana case on behalf of the former prime minister.
Earlier, significant progress was made in the Toshakhana case before the decision on the suspension of sentence application. Chairman PTI has also filed a request to prevent arrest in any case. He, through lawyer Salman Safdar, has filed an application in the Islamabad High Court in which FIA, NAB, and police have been requested to stop the arrest. He also requested a hearing on the application today.
It is pertinent to mention here that on August 5, Judge Humayun Dilawar of the Sessions Court of Islamabad sentenced Chairman PTI to 3 years in prison and a fine of 100,000 in the Toshakhana case. The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was arrested from Lahore on the same day after being sentenced in the Toshakhana case and is currently lodged in Attock Jail.
